the guinea pig trilogy
In the interests of harmony, we acknowledge His Highness Hazel One-Eye as the prime mover behind the first guinea-pig-centric (that is to say, Hazel-centric) trilogy. The human author was merely a useful minion (resistance is futile, etc.) Book 1: Pig Tails tells of the Pig God's early life, when he established his kingdom on the southern island of Tasmania.
BOOK 2: BOARS BEHAVING BADLY is scheduled to launch in 2019.
His Highness Hazel is pleased with your impatience.
in his own words…***
'Pig Tails opens a window on the realm of guinea piggus domesticus, a species highly underrated by the world at large but destined to become humanity’s most sought after furry companion.’
‘A gentle tale, with a dash of dry humour and a pinch of pathos. You’ll never see a guinea pig with the same eyes again.’
‘Pig Tails gave me a new respect for guinea pigs. Hazel One-Eye is irresistible.’
‘A domestic tale with cosmic implications.’
‘This deceptively simple story holds lightly an exploration of the ageless subjects of life, death, love and connection. Pig Tails is written with a deep affection, a delightful play on words, and the clear sight of the wise.’
*** Administrator’s Note: I’m embarrassed to say that His Highness Hazel concocted these review statements and forced me to put them in a prominent position. They are quite true of course, but one should not blow one’s own trumpet.
